My wife Pam loves flowers. I bring her flowers often. There is always flowers in the house. We talk about them often. We share this experience in our relationship.

People often place flowers in their homes and places of work. To me, this seems to evoke a presence of consciousness.  It bespeaks a sense of hope and optimism to try to improve life’s experience. These arrangements can evoke qualities of an effigy or a shrine. They pay homage to being.

Flowers give me an impetus for the ritual of painting. I paint them to celebrate these ideas.
